About the Role
We are seeking hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious General Workers to join our Backfill Project team within an open cast coal mining environment. The successful candidates will provide general labour support across various operational activities including housekeeping, rehabilitation support, material handling, equipment assistance, and site maintenance.
The role requires physically fit individuals who are able to work in demanding mining conditions while maintaining high safety and productivity standards.
Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate will be advantageous.
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in mining, construction, earthworks, or industrial environments will be advantageous.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour duties.
Basic understanding of workplace safety requirements.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
Good communication skills.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and in demanding site conditions.
Medically fit to work on a mining site.
Advantageous
Previous experience on open cast mining, rehabilitation, or backfill projects.
Valid mining induction certificates.
Basic First Aid or safety-related training.
Experience working around heavy mining or earthmoving equipment.
Valid driver’s licence.
Basic tool handling and site maintenance experience.
About the Company
Assist with general site labour and operational support activities.
Perform housekeeping duties and maintain clean, safe working areas.
Assist operators, supervisors, artisans, and maintenance personnel as required.
Support rehabilitation and backfilling activities on site.
Load, move, and handle tools, equipment, materials, and supplies safely.
Follow instructions from supervisors and comply with operational requirements.
Adhere to all Mine Health and Safety Act requirements, company procedures, and site safety rules.
Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately.
Assist with barricading, demarcation, and basic site preparation activities.
Ensure proper use and care of PPE and company tools.
Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
Maintain discipline, professionalism, and teamwork on site.
